Following a slight reduction in petroleum product pricing by the caretaker administration on Saturday night, the total cost of a litre of petrol now includes Rs 127.74 in taxes, while a litre of diesel has taxes of Rs 93.37.

Documents obtained by Samaa TV reveal that the cost of gasoline includes a customs fee of Rs. 21 per litre, and the cost of diesel includes a duty of Rs. 22.

Additionally, the documents state that a premium of Rs. 15 per litre of petrol is being claimed, along with modifications of Rs. 12 being charged in the price of petrol.

According to the records, the price of gasoline is 32 paisas per litre and the price of diesel is 38 paisas, in addition to an accident tax.

A maritime accident tax of 41 paisas, a levy tax of Rs50 per litre, a dealer margin of Rs7.08 and a distribution margin of Rs 7.82 paisas are all included in the price of diesel per litre.

Additionally, a fuel levy of Rs. 60 and freight charges of Rs. 5.53 per litre are added to the cost of gasoline, along with a dealer margin of Rs. 7.82 and a distribution margin of Rs. 6.94.

The caretaker government, headed by Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, cut the price of gasoline by Rs. 8 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs. 11 for the next two weeks on Saturday night.

The Finance Ministry announced in a notification that the government has decided to adjust consumer prices due to changes in the price of petroleum products internationally and improvements in the exchange rate.
