Pakistan's Mutual Fund Assets Hit Record High of Rs2.097 Trillion by December 2023
The Assets Under Management (AUM) of Pakistan's Mutual Funds Industry soared to an unprecedented level, reaching Rs2.097 trillion as of December 2023. This remarkable achievement reflects a substantial YoY growth of 36.95%, compared to Rs1.531 trillion recorded in December 2022, according to data released by the Mutual Funds Association of Pakistan (MUFAP).
On a sequential basis, AUMs experienced a notable 6.69% increase, standing at Rs1.965 trillion in November 2023.
Examining the performance over the first half of the calendar year 2023, AUMs were at Rs1.654 trillion, witnessing a subsequent surge of Rs422.2 billion in the latter half, marking an impressive growth rate of 26.73%.
It is worth noting that the Pakistan Stock Market achieved its highest annual return since 2009, with the key benchmark KSE-100 index witnessing a staggering gain of 54.5% in 2023.
Additionally, when assessed in USD terms, the index recorded a substantial gain of 24%.
