The Pakistani rupee (PKR) broke its 28-day upward trend on Tuesday during the interbank session, dropping 20 paisas versus the US dollar to close at PKR 277.03 from PKR 276.83 the day before.

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) broke its 28-day upward trend on Tuesday during the interbank session, dropping 20 paisas versus the US dollar to close at PKR 277.03 from PKR 276.83 the day before.

The intraday high (bid) and low (ask) for the local unit were 277.2 and 275.75, respectively.

The PKR depreciated 48.72 paisa in relation to the Euro, closing at 292.1 as opposed to 291.62 earlier in the day.

The British Pound closed at 337.12 on Friday, up 9.05 paisa from the previous day's 337.03 closing price.

The Swiss franc closed at 307.15, up 67.99 paisa from the previous session's closing price of 306.47.

PKR shed 0.05 paisa vs the Japanese Yen, closing at 1.852 compared 1.851 the previous day.

The Chinese Yuan closed at 37.8736, up 1.02 paisa from the previous session's finish of 37.8634.

The Saudi Riyal ended the day at 73.86, down 5.22 paisa from its opening value of 73.8.

The value of the U.A.E. Dirham rose from 75.368 to 75.424 a day ago, a gain of 5.63 paisa.

The value of the rupee has increased by 8.96 rupees, or 3.23%, compared to the US dollar during the current fiscal year. In contrast, the value of the PKR has decreased by 50.6 rupees, or 18.27%, this calendar year.

The benchmark 6-month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates in the money market decreased by 4 basis points to 22.48% and 22.73%.
