SNGPL Takes Decisive Action: 124 Meters Disconnected and Rs 7.4 Million in Fines Imposed

In a widespread operation spanning Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) executed a series of raids, resulting in the disconnection of 124 gas meters. This robust initiative aimed to crack down on unauthorized connections and under billing practices.

The crackdown also revealed 349 cases of under billing, each meticulously processed by the SNGPL teams. Subsequently, a substantial cumulative fine of Rs 7.4 million was imposed on the offenders. The spokesperson for the company shared details of the disconnections and fines imposed during this operation.

In Lahore, the regional team took action by disconnecting 17 connections, 15 of which were related to compressor use, accompanied by a fine of Rs 0.56 million. In Rawalpindi, two connections faced disconnection, contributing to the overall enforcement efforts. The federal capital saw three meters being disconnected, and in Multan, five connections were rendered inactive.

Furthermore, the teams in Sheikhupura disabled 37 connections, while Sargodha and Peshawar witnessed three and 36 disconnections, respectively. The Bahawalpur team also played its part by disconnecting one connection as part of the comprehensive drive against unauthorized gas usage.

This initiative by SNGPL underscores the company's commitment to curbing irregularities and ensuring fair practices in gas consumption across various regions.
