SECP and ADB Collaborate to Organize "Women in Finance Thought Leaders Workshop" with Microfinance and Tech Giants

In a joint effort, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are set to organize a transformative event, the "Women in Finance Thought Leaders Workshop." The workshop, as outlined in a recent press release, will feature eminent personalities from the microfinance sector, ADB, Women's World Banking, IFC, and Google.

The primary objective of this workshop is to create a collaborative platform for thought leaders to deliberate on strategies aimed at empowering women through microfinance. Additionally, the event seeks to address challenges and explore opportunities in the realm of financial inclusion.

Comprising interactive sessions and panel discussions, the workshop will shed light on the pivotal role that non-bank microfinance institutions (NBMFIs) can play in facilitating women towards achieving financial independence.

Focusing on the intersection of fintech and women's financial inclusion, the event will tackle issues within the non-bank microfinance sector and strive to narrow the gender finance gap.

Anticipated to draw a diverse audience, including policymakers, financial institutions, microfinance practitioners, researchers, and development partners, the workshop is poised to offer a comprehensive perspective on advancing gender equality in the financial landscape.

The valuable insights generated from this event are expected to influence policy-making endeavors, particularly those related to gender-inclusive and sustainable economic growth. This aligns with the SECP's commitment, as the regulator of NBMFIs, to champion gender equality and foster an environment conducive to sustainable economic progress.
