The coin would be distributed by SBP Banking Services Corporation exchange counters beginning August 11, 2023, according to a statement issued here on Thursday.

The Pakistani government has decided to produce a Rs.100 commemorative coin in honour of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’s major contribution to the country’s infrastructure and economic development since its beginning in 2013.

The coin features a circular shape machined with serrations on the edge, a diameter of 30.00 mm, a weight of 13.5 grammes, and Cupro-Nickel metal content, according to the statement.

An artistically crafted five-pointed star has been reflected on the obverse side and in the centre of the coin. The crescent moon and star from Pakistan’s national flag, as well as a set of five stars from China’s national flag, were also depicted inside the artistically made star at the right and left locations, respectively.

The words “CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF CPEC” in English script and “ISLAMI JAMHURIA PAKISTAN” in Urdu script were written on the top and bottom of the star, as well as the peripheral, with two stars separating them on the left and right sides of the coin.

An artistically created five-pointed Star has been reflected on the reverse side and in the centre of the coin. The crescent moon and star from Pakistan’s national flag, as well as a set of five stars from China’s national flag, were also depicted inside the artistically made star at the right and left locations, respectively.

The words “CHINA PAKISTAN ECONOMIC CORRIDOR” are printed in English and Chinese scripts on top of the star, along with the periphery. At the bottom of the star, along with the peripheral, the words “PAKISTAN CHEEN EQTESADI RAHDARI” in Urdu Script and “FROM VISION TO REALITY” in English Script were written.
