Islamabad: Emphasizing the need for business-to-business cooperation between Pakistan and China, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured Chinese investors of full facilitation and security for their projects in Pakistan. Speaking at the Pakistan-China Business Forum in Shenzhen, he highlighted bilateral trade and investment potential, emphasizing collaboration in key sectors like technology, industry, and renewable energy.
 
PM Shehbaz praised China's development model and pledged to replicate its success in Pakistan. He urged Pakistani businessmen to explore partnerships with their Chinese counterparts, particularly in relocating Chinese textile industries to Pakistan and collaborating in steel and other sectors.
 
Highlighting Pakistan's vast mineral deposits and export potential, the PM assured structural changes to curb corruption. He drew a comparison between Shenzhen's remarkable transformation and Pakistan's GDP, vowing to prioritize economic growth.
 
Addressing security concerns, PM Shehbaz promised enhanced protection for Chinese workers in Pakistan, ensuring measures to prevent incidents like the recent terror attack in Besham.
 
During his visit to Huawei's headquarters, PM Shehbaz invited investment in Pakistan's taxation and e-governance sectors, as well as Safe City projects. He also proposed modernizing Pakistan's agriculture sector with Huawei's technology. Later, at the signing ceremony of a framework agreement, Huawei committed to providing free IT training to 200,000 Pakistani youths and supporting initiatives in safe cities and digitization.
