PKR Experiences a Marginal 4.76 Paisa Depreciation Against USD

In Monday's interbank session, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) showed a slight depreciation of 4.76 paisa against the US dollar, settling the trade at PKR 279.64 per USD. This marked a nominal shift from the previous session's closing rate of PKR 279.59 per USD.

The intraday fluctuations revealed a high (bid) of 279.9 and a low (ask) of 279.4 for the PKR.

On the open market, exchange companies set the buying rate for the dollar at 280.5 and the selling rate at 281.5.

Comparatively, PKR experienced a decline of 51.28 paisa against the Euro, concluding at 302.98, as opposed to the prior value of 302.46.

The British Pound saw a rise of 77.34 paisa, closing at 355.4 compared to the previous day's 354.62.

The Swiss franc gained 1.85 rupees, closing at 324.15 from the previous session's 322.3.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR lost a minimal 0.02 paisa, closing at 1.8917 versus 1.8915 a day ago.

The Chinese Yuan saw a modest gain of 0.52 paisa, closing at 38.95 against the previous session's 38.94.

The Saudi Riyal concluded at 74.57, marking a gain of 1.27 paisa from its value of 74.56 a day ago.

The U.A.E Dirham increased in value by 1.3 paisa, rising from 76.14 a day ago to 76.12.

Throughout the current financial year, PKR has strengthened against the Dollar by 6.35 rupees or 2.27%. In the current calendar year, PKR has appreciated by 2.22 rupees or 0.79%.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates slightly increased by 3 bps to 20.45% and 20.7%.
