Petrol price to remain unchanged; diesel cut by Rs5

For the next two weeks, concluding May 15, the federal government has dropped the pricing of all petroleum products, excluding petrol, by Rs5 to 10 per litre.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar stated today in a video speech that the price of petrol would remain steady at Rs282 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was decreased by Rs5 per litre to Rs288.

Meanwhile, the prices of light-diesel oil and kerosene were reduced by Rs10 per litre, to Rs164.68 and 176.07, respectively.

Ishaq Dar stated that the finance ministry had done all possible to resolve the issue of pricing adjustments in the nation’s favour following the suggestion of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The federal government raised the price of petrol by Rs10 and fuel oil by Rs5.78 in the last two weeks, citing “increases in petroleum prices in the international market and exchange rate fluctuations.”
