Pakistan's Planning Minister Prioritizes Potential Joint Ventures in Crucial Talks with Influential Chinese Delegation

In a bid to fortify the longstanding ties between China and Pakistan and explore potential areas of collaboration, Planning Minister Muhammad Sami Saeed engaged in a constructive meeting with a distinguished business delegation from China, as per the press release issued today.

The delegation, spearheaded by Li Ting, Chairman of the Chang Chinag Chamber of Commerce, comprised eight members representing diverse industries such as import and export, technology, electronics, machinery, office supplies, apparel, and building materials.

The discussions revolved around enhancing bilateral relations and pinpointing strategic areas for mutually beneficial partnerships.

Federal Minister Muhammad Sami Saeed underscored key sectors for potential investment, including Agriculture, IT & Telecom, Mines & Minerals, and the Energy sector.

He emphasized the prospects of utilizing Special Economic Zones (SEZs), expressing Pakistan's encouragement for foreign investment, particularly from Chinese investors, for joint ventures and the relocation of industries to Pakistan.

Minister Saeed also highlighted Pakistan's demographic dividend, with youth constituting over 60% of the country's population, presenting significant business opportunities, particularly in the IT sector.

Moreover, he reiterated the government's commitment to providing a secure business environment, making investor facilitation a top priority.

"Our government's top priority is a one-window operation for foreign investors, ensuring security and comfort in our industrial zones. We encourage B2B investments and invite businesses to explore opportunities in sectors like agriculture, food, IT, Artificial Intelligence, and industrial cooperation," stated Minister Saeed.

The Minister further affirmed the government's dedication to advancing the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), particularly the flagship program, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

As a gesture of appreciation, the delegation presented special souvenirs to the planning minister, reciprocated by a souvenir presented by the Minister to the delegation.

Pakistan remains committed to facilitating and promoting foreign investment, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship with China and other nations. This collaborative effort aims to stimulate prosperity and growth, benefiting both nations and making positive contributions to regional and global economies.
