Monetary Policy Committee to Meet on Monday

Monetary Policy Committee to Meet on Monday

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will meet on Monday, June 10 to decide about the monetary policy.

Later on, SBP will issue the monetary policy statement through a press release on the same day.

In the last MPC meeting held on April 29, the committee kept interest rates unchanged at a record 22% for the seventh consecutive meeting.

Market analysts widely expect the SBP to cut its policy rate by 100 basis points (bps).

The reduction would be the first in almost four years after what has been the most aggressive fight against soaring inflation.

The decision will come just before the federal budget 2024-25.
