IT Sectors Experience a Surge as a Result of the China-Pakistan Digital Corridor.
Islamabad: The Economic Survey of Pakistan 2024 highlights significant growth prospects in the IT and telecommunication sectors, propelled by the China-Pakistan digital corridor. Spearheaded by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor's (CPEC) IT Industry Joint Working Group (JWP), efforts aim to enhance ICT infrastructure, foster investment cooperation, and establish a digital corridor between the two countries.

SI Global Solutions CEO Noman Said emphasizes Pakistan's competitive advantage in the IT sector and the promising outlook for telecommunications with the advent of 5G. To sustain growth, a robust policy framework and initiatives like the Special Investment Facilitation Council's (SIFC) one-window operation are crucial.

Additionally, the survey underscores the transformative impact of investing in Pakistan's IT and telecom sectors, driving economic growth, job creation, and global competitiveness. According to the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), ICT exports surged to $2.283 billion during FY2024, contributing significantly to the trade surplus.

This surge underscores the immense potential of Pakistan's IT industry on the global stage, highlighting its pivotal role in shaping the country's economic landscape and positioning it as a key player in the digital arena.
