China Advances Humanoid Technology, Improving Facial Expressions and Emotions
Islamabad: In China's northeastern coastal city of Dalian, engineers at the Ex-Robots factory focus on developing humanoid robots that excel at expressing emotions through facial movements.

On the factory floor, tables are filled with neck-length silicone masks, arms, and feet, while humanoid robots in various stages of construction stand nearby. The company's Chief Executive, Li Boyang, emphasizes their dedication to creating complex robotic products, particularly focusing on AI recognition and expression of emotions.

Thanks to advanced software and algorithms, Ex-Robots' humanoid robots can mimic human movements and expressions with precision. Motors installed within their heads enable them to replicate subtle gestures and emotions, providing a lifelike experience.

It takes the company two weeks to a month to produce a humanoid robot, with prices ranging from 1.5 million yuan ($207,000) to 2 million yuan. Initially designed for museum displays, Ex-Robots envisions broader applications in healthcare and education in the future.

Li foresees humanoid robots playing a significant role in psychological counseling and healthcare, aiding in emotional and psychological disorder screening. Additionally, he sees potential in service sectors, particularly in catering to children's needs through emotional interaction.
