The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its downward trend this week, dropping 3.74 rupees in value relative to the US dollar to conclude the week at PKR 284.31, down from PKR 280.57 at the close of the previous week.

The local currency lost 88.74 paisa during today's session, closing at an intraday high (bid) of 284.5 and a low (ask) of 283.6.

The exchange businesses offered the dollar at 282 for buying and 285 for selling on the open market, down from the previous closure of 281.5 for buying and 284.5 for selling. As a result, the local unit lost 50 paisa.

Notably, this is the seventh session in a row where the value of the local currency has declined in relation to the US dollar.

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated 1.65 versus the euro relative to major currencies, finishing at 302.08 from its previous value of 300.43.

The value of the British Pound increased by 1.89 rupees, ending the day at 346.63 as opposed to 344.74.

The Swiss franc closed at 313.36, up 23.6 paisa from the previous session's ending of 313.13.

PKR shed 0.64 paisa against the Japanese yen, closing at 1.891 vs 1.884 the previous day.

The Chinese Yuan closed at 38.8623, up 13.72 paisa from the previous session's closing of 38.7251.

The value of the Saudi Riyal increased by 22.95 paisa from its closing value of 75.55 the previous day to 75.78.

The value of the U.A.E. Dirham rose from 77.166 to 77.407 a day ago, a gain of 24.16 paisa.

The value of the rupee has increased by 1.68 rupees, or 0.59%, compared to the US dollar during the current fiscal year. In contrast, the value of the Pakistan Rupee has decreased by 20.36%, or 57.88 rupees, this year.
