Electric rickshaw launched in Lahore

Under the guidance of Secretary of Transport, Ahmed Javaid Qazi, the Punjab government held a pivotal meeting at the transport secretariat.

The focal point of the meeting was the introduction of electric rickshaws, a collaborative effort between the Transport Department and a local private company. Following the successful operation of the electric rickshaw, Secretary Ahmed Javaid Qazi, accompanied by experts, conducted a comprehensive examination.

During the event, Secretary Qazi emphasized that the adoption of these electric rickshaws would play a crucial role in curbing both air and noise pollution.

Notably, the drivers of these eco-friendly rickshaws will now enjoy the convenience of covering up to 150 kilometers on a single charge, especially significant amid the ongoing surge in fuel prices.

This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation solutions, marking a positive step towards a greener and more efficient future.
