Car Sales Dropped by 47.4 Percent In Pakistan

According to recent data announced by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA), car sales declined by 47.4 percent during the first four months of the current fiscal year 2023-24 compared to the same months previous year.

According to the data, 20,871 cars were sold during the review period, compared to 39,700 units in the same period previous year. According to the breakdown numbers, 2,239 Honda Civic and City units were sold between July and October 2023-24, compared to 6,416 units sold between July and October 2022-23.

Toyota Corolla and Yaris sales also fell by 51%, falling to 4,032 cars from 8,253 units the previous year. The sales of the Suzuki Swift experienced a notable decline, dropping by 55% to 1,576 units from the previous year’s 3,466 units.

The Suzuki Cultus saw a decrease in sales, with only 1,142 units sold in the first four months of the current year compared to 2,952 units during the same period last year. Similarly, the Suzuki WagonR’s sales dropped to 1,160 units from 2,181 units in the previous year.

Suzuki Alto faced a significant sales downturn, witnessing a 30% decrease from 13,464 units to 9,362 units in the current year. Additionally, the sales of Suzuki Bolan declined to 684 units, in contrast to the 1,469 units sold in the same month last year.
