Surprise Visit by CM Sindh Unveils Issues at Mono Technic Institute Kohsar

HYDERABAD: Former Justice Maqbool Baqar, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, paid an unanticipated visit to the Mono Technic Institute in Kohsar, ordering an inquiry and forensic audit into the utilization of funds, teacher attendance, and the state of repair and maintenance work at STEVTA Sindh.

A four-member inquiry team, consisting of Chief Secretary Sindh, Commissioner Hyderabad, an expert from NED University, and a financial expert, has been appointed to investigate the matter.

During the visit, CM Sindh inspected woodwork, plumbing, civil mechanical, and welding classes and labs, expressing dissatisfaction with the low turnout of students in the model classroom, which had fewer than 50 students present. CM Sindh conveyed his displeasure to the institute's principal, Jyind Ali Kandhar, regarding the inadequate student attendance.

Inquiring about the names and functions of various mechanical instruments from the principal, teachers, and students, CM Sindh expressed concern that if the educators are unaware of the instruments and their applications, it raises questions about their ability to teach students effectively.

CM Sindh questioned students about the classes and practical work in the institute, learning that classes had started a month ago, but no practical work had commenced. Expressing dissatisfaction with the Additional Regional Director of STEVTA, Manzoor Chandio, for neglecting visits to the institute, CM Sindh criticized the college for not providing adequate technical education.

Accompanied by the caretaker minister for local government, Mubeen Jumani, CM Sindh also visited the Badin bus stop. The Municipal Commissioner, Anis Dasti, briefed CM Sindh that the bus stop is a property of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, covering ten acres of land. CM Sindh directed the Secretary of Transport, Asad Zamin, to remove encroachments and illegal occupations, submitting a report within ten days. He also instructed the formulation of a scheme for a bus terminal.

CM Sindh further directed DIG Hyderabad, Tariq Dharejo, to ensure the prevention of drug supply at the bus stop, emphasizing the implementation of all necessary measures.

In earlier developments, Commissioner Hyderabad Syed Khalid Hyder Shah, DIG Hyderabad Tariq Dharejo, DC Hyderabad Tariq Qureshi, and SSP Hyderabad Amjad Shaikh welcomed CM Sindh at Hyderabad airport.
