Ramzan Sugar Mills Reference: AC Postpones Hearing Until Feb 14

LAHORE: The accountability court has decided to adjourn the proceedings in the Ramzan Sugar Mills reference involving PML-N President and former Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif, and his sons. The new hearing date is set for February 14.

Former Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz has been granted a one-time exemption from appearing in person, while Anwar Hussain, Shahbaz Sharif's legal representative, presented himself before the court.

According to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Shahbaz Sharif, during his tenure as Punjab Chief Minister, allegedly issued a directive for the construction of a drain in district Chiniot. This directive was primarily for the benefit of sugar mills owned by his sons. The NAB claims that a sum of Rs 213 million from public funds was utilized for this purpose.
