The benchmark KSE-100 Index increased by 8.15 points, or 0.02%, to close at 51,185.28 at the end of Thursday's trading session.

The index began the session up more than 340 points, but the gains were restrained by investors' expectations for the central bank's impending policy rate decision and October's inflation figures, which are scheduled for release next week.

Out of the 100 index companies, 13 stayed untraded, 4 were unchanged, 26 closed up, and 57 closed down.

The industry that contributed the most points to the index, the banking sector, continued to produce solid results for the quarter.

Commercial Banks contributed 132.62 points, Leather & Tanneries contributed 20.14, Cement contributed 10.27, Tobacco contributed 8.14, and Close-end Mutual Fund contributed 7.59 points to the KSE-100 index.

Businesses that increased the index's point total were BOP (19.37), MCB (20.41), SRVI (20.14), BAHL (94.6), and MEBL (31.93).

Additionally, market players are keeping a close eye on the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) standby arrangement (SBA), which, should it continue to be successful, will open the door for an installment of $700 million.

The index had an intraday high of 51,520.68 (+343.55) points and a low of 51,140.64 (-36.49) points, trading within a range of 380.04 points.

The KSE-100 Index had a total volume of 175.3 million shares.

Oil and Gas Exploration Companies dropped out of the KSE-100 Index with 53.67 points, followed by Investment Banks, Investment Companies, and Securities Companies with 30.68, Oil and Gas Marketing Companies with 26.77, Fertilizer with 14.21, and Refinery with 9.12 points.

Companies that pulled the index down were FFC (20.66 points), DAWH (27.23), HBL (25.03), BAFL (22.86), and PPL (32.48).

With a net gain of 34.00 points, the All-Share index closed at 34,039.84 in the overall market.

The traded value was recorded at Rs10.93 billion, indicating a decrease of Rs4.58 billion, while the total market volume was 364.039 million shares, down from 427.394 from the previous session.

A total of 355 entities reported 175,587 deals, of which 139 ended in a profit, 196 in a loss, and 20 remained unchanged.
