The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suggested that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament be relocated to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the future.

A day earlier, the concept was submitted to the PCB governing council during a meeting presided over by its Management Committee Chairperson Najam Sethi.

Representatives from the league’s board informed teams of the advantages of holding the league in the Gulf nation.

PCB expressed their concerns about higher security costs and a lack of crowd attention at several locations in Pakistan. The board stated that if the league is played in the UAE, more overseas cricketers will come to play.

The franchisees, on the other hand, have spoken out against the plan, emphasizing the importance of keeping the country’s only league at home.

Meanwhile, franchisees couldn’t agree on adding two more clubs to the league. They believe that the pool of players is already limited.

PCB also said that the eighth season of the PSL made a considerable profit, which will be shared with the franchisees in due course.

Lahore Qalandars successfully defended their PSL championship this year, defeating Multan Sultans in the final in Lahore.
