Proposal Made for Tourism Cooperation Between Pakistan and UAE

Islamabad: Business leaders have expressed their approval of the recent announcement by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) regarding a substantial $10 billion investment in key economic sectors of Pakistan.

Speaking to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) on Tuesday, President of the Pakistan Business Forum (PBF), Khawaja Mehboobur Rehman, praised the UAE's trajectory of development and stressed Pakistan's commitment to fortifying its ties with the Gulf state, particularly in economic, commercial, and investment domains.

Rehman noted, "This significant investment stands as a testament to the confidence foreign investors have in the efforts to rejuvenate Pakistan's economy."

With 1.8 million Pakistani expatriates residing in the UAE and actively contributing to the growth and prosperity of both nations, Rehman highlighted the importance of bolstering cooperation, particularly in aviation and tourism, to foster greater people-to-people exchanges.

Over the past 19 years, Pakistan's exports to the UAE have demonstrated a steady growth, averaging an annual rate of 4.5%, climbing from $1.12 billion in 2003 to $2.58 billion in 2022. In light of this, Rehman extended an invitation to the Chairman and CEO of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce to visit Pakistan and explore avenues for enhancing bilateral trade.
