PM Shehbaz Sharif to Visit China from June 4-8

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit China from June 4 to 8, following an invitation from the Chinese leadership.

This was announced by Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during her weekly media briefing on Friday. She said the PM's four-day visit aims to further solidify the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.

During the visit, the prime minister will engage in high-level meetings with the Chinese president and other key officials. These discussions will cover a range of topics, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), economic cooperation, and agricultural development.

In addition to political engagements, PM Sharif will meet with representatives from Chinese companies and the corporate sector. He is also slated to address the Pakistan China Business Forum, highlighting opportunities for increased trade and investment between the two nations.

The visit will include tours of economic and agricultural zones, showcasing areas of potential collaboration and development. Various agreements are expected to be signed, further strengthening the economic and strategic partnership between Pakistan and China. 

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting to review the preparations for his visit to China, directing to create detailed schedules for productive business-to-business talks between the two nations. He gave the authorities instructions to come up with plans to appealing Chinese businesses to set up units in Pakistan, promising the investors and industrialists that his government would support them wholeheartedly.

The prime minister was informed, during the briefing that he would be accompanied to Shenzhen, China, by a delegation of businessmen, investors, and industrialists. Meetings with the Chinese business community would be held by the delegation in an effort to strengthen business-to-business ties between the two nations.

The PM instructed Pakistan's ambassador to China to provide full facilitation to the Pakistani business delegation's visit. 

Azerbaijan FM's visit

Furthermore, she recalled that Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov recently visited Pakistan. During his visit, Biramov held discussions with the deputy prime minister and foreign minister and other key officials. The visit was deemed highly important, reinforcing the strong ties and cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

She remarked that Pakistan and Azerbaijan have long and strong relations. 

Diplomatic relations with Saint Lucia

In a notable development, Pakistan and Saint Lucia formally established diplomatic relations on May 29. This new relationship is part of Pakistan's broader initiative to strengthen its global diplomatic network. Over the past three years, Pakistan has successfully established diplomatic relations with various countries, enhancing its international presence and fostering new partnerships.
