PM Shehbaz says ‘strategy devised to increase exports, investments via SIFC’

The government, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has established a comprehensive strategy to enhance exports and investments through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the National Information Technology (IT) seminar and ceremony to inaugurate several IT projects in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the premier stated that our approach focuses on growing and attracting investment in agriculture, information technology, mines and minerals, and defence industrial sectors to improve exports.

He stated that the SIFC will function as a one-stop shop, facilitating potential investors and stakeholders without delay in order to accelerate development projects.

The prime minister stated that we will provide the finest available facilities to the youth in the IT sector in order to increase our IT exports to 20-25 billion dollars in the next years.

Previously, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched Tech Destination Pakistan, Tech Lift Boot Camp, the First Knowledge Park for Women Bagh (Azad Jammu and Kashmir), the Agri-Tech Incubator Faisalabad, and the Centre of Excellence in Gaming and Animation.

On the occasion, he also visited various booths set up by IT companies.

Following the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to foster an enabling environment for the expansion and digitization of the IT sector, the National IT Seminar was organized.

Investors and foreign diplomats from Gulf countries, China, and the European Union attended the event.
