Pakistan Intends to Complete Iran gas pipeline project: Musadik

According to Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Malik, plans to finish the gas pipeline project with Iran.

Musadik Malik stated that talks with Iran for the completion of the gas pipeline are ongoing.

“There are international sanctions in place against Iran.” “After reviewing the situation, Pakistan will make a decision,” he said.

According to the minister, Pakistan has already participated in border trade with Iran. He also stated that it purchases 100 megawatts of electricity from Iran in border trade.

It should be noted that the Pakistan Foreign Office has stated that the country is dedicated to completing the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project. According to a FO official, there were certain difficulties with project completion that both countries were discussing.

According to the Petroleum Minister, Pakistan’s refinery policy has been developed and would be approved by the Prime Minister soon.

“A mega-investment of ten billion dollars is on its way to Pakistan, and the prime minister will inaugurate a ten billion dollar investment project,” he stated.

“We purchased 20% of our oil from Russia to meet our national requirements,” the minister added.

A direct shipping route between Pakistan and Russia is being inaugurated for the first time, signifying a shift in bilateral trade between the two countries.

Today, Dr. Musadik Malik, Minister of State for Petroleum, and Russian authorities attended the inaugural ceremony of direct containerized shipping service between Karachi and Saint Petersburg ports.
