PIA Air Hostess Hina Sani detained in Canada again over drug possession charges

TORONTO: Canadian authorities have retrieved methamphetamine from the shoes of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) air hostess, Hina Sani, who was arrested on suspicion of illegal activity.

Reports in local media said Sani, the infamous air hostess of the national air carrier, was held for the second time for possession of the banned substance.

A PIA spokesperson confirmed to the media that the flight attendant was being held, but the charges were not disclosed.

The accused will soon appear in court. Hina Sani cited two additional Toronto-based PIA executives, Faiza Javed and Jameel, as accomplices during the investigation, and both were subjected to in-depth interrogations.

Hina was eventually freed after being initially imprisoned for possessing numerous passports. She however remains suspended from her airline duties.

According to reports, as additional proceedings are ongoing, Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency contacted PIA to request more details on her case.
