Pakistan Secures 45th Position in Global Internet Development Index

In a recent revelation, Pakistan has clinched the 45th position out of 52 countries in the World Internet Development Index, according to the 2023 World Internet Development Report unveiled at the prestigious 2023 World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province, as reported by China Economic Net (CEN).

The comprehensive world internet development index comprises six key metrics, namely information technology infrastructure, digital technology and innovation capability, digital economy, digital government, cyber security, and cyberspace international management. Pakistan's rankings in these indicators are 47th, 43rd, 42nd, 45th, 45th, and 40th, respectively.

This marks the inaugural inclusion of Pakistan in the evaluation for the internet development blue paper, standing alongside four other nations. The report's top five performers include the United States, China, Singapore, the Netherlands, and South Korea.

The World Internet Development Report, compiled and launched annually since 2017 by the Chinese Academy of Cyberspace Studies (CACS), offers a comprehensive assessment of global Internet development trends for the year. It meticulously details the accomplishments and challenges faced, providing valuable insights for future advancements.
