Pakistan Marks Debut at Global HR Expo in Riyadh, Unveiling Workforce Potential

In a groundbreaking move, Pakistan, led by the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD), has entered the International Human Resources & Labour Services Expo in Riyadh for the first time, according to a press release issued yesterday.

This historic development, spearheaded by Jawad Sohrab Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD), signals a new era in projecting Pakistan's workforce on the global stage.

The Expo, a significant event in the global labor market, is scheduled to run from December 24, 2023, to December 27, 2023, in Riyadh.

Mr. Jawad Sohrab Malik, SAPM, played a pivotal role in orchestrating Pakistan's participation and inaugurated Pakistan’s Pavilion at the Expo.

Furthermore, Pakistan inked over a dozen agreements with Saudi and international companies to enhance employment prospects for the Pakistani workforce abroad. These agreements will create opportunities for Pakistanis in diverse sectors, including construction, hospitality, IT, services industry, and more, on a global scale.

The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), a part of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistan and Human Resource Development, also made its presence felt at the expo through its Managing Director, Naseer Khan Kashani.

Distinguished attendees included Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mr. Ahmad Farooq, and representatives from multinational organizations.

Highlighting the significance of the expo, SAPM emphasized that it serves as a crucial platform, bringing together human resources, recruitment companies, and accredited labor services entities.

The expo offers Pakistan a priceless opportunity to engage with the global community, understand international market needs, and align its skills with the evolving demands of the job market.

SAPM Jawad Sohrab Malik, commenting on the occasion, stated that the expo provides a unique platform for Pakistan to showcase the capabilities and potential of its labor force. It goes beyond being a job opportunity platform; it is a testament to Pakistan's dedication to skill development and its commitment to global competitiveness.

SAPM Malik announced exciting plans for establishing new vocational training centers across Pakistan, specifically tailored to meet the job market demands of regions like Saudi Arabia.

Participation in the Expo, according to SAPM Malik, is not just an event; it is a gateway for the skilled Pakistani workforce, opening new horizons and demonstrating Pakistan’s commitment to its citizens, both at home and abroad.
