OceanGate plans to build colony on Venus

OceanGate, the company behind the Titan submersible that exploded in the Atlantic Ocean last month, has announced plans to create a colony on Venus and transport 1,000 people there by 2050.

Venus, Earth’s sister planet, has a dense, toxic atmosphere dominated by carbon dioxide. The planet is engulfed in thick yellowish clouds of sulfuric acid, causing tremendous heat with surface temperatures approaching 900 degrees Fahrenheit (475 degrees Celsius).

“Humans 2 Venus” is the moniker given to this grandiose project.

The colony that OceanGate is planning to establish will be a “floating colony.” Guillermo Sohnlein, co-founder of OceanGate, is in charge of the project.

According to Business Insider, Guillermo Sohnlein has stated that “his plan has no flaws.”

“My project is not as ambitious as settling a million people on Mars by 2050,” he explained. Guillermo Sohnlein was assumed to be mocking Elon Musk when he said this, because Musk stated in a 2022 interview that he aims to establish people on Mars by 2050.

Guillermo stated that there is no such thing as 100% safety while discussing the Titan Submersible catastrophe. The risk is always present.
