Mirpurkhas Board Unveils New Website for Distribution of Textbooks in Both Digital and Print Formats

KARACHI: Former Justice Maqbool Baqar, the Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister, has instructed the School Education Department to ensure the availability of both hard and soft copies of textbooks for students engaged in online learning.

In an era dominated by digital preferences among children, where online content is favored over traditional hard copies, the CM emphasized this need during a ceremony held on Friday at the CM House, marking the launch of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Mirpurkhas website. Key attendees included Secretary U&B Noor Ahmad Samoo, Chairman Mirpurkhas Board Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Secretary Board Anisudddin, Controller of Examination Anwar Aleem, and others.

Chairman Mirpurkhas Board, Zulfiqar Shah, provided the CM with insights into the website's key features, highlighting services such as online enrollment, issuance of enrollment cards, examination forms, and roll number slips.

The website also facilitates online affiliation, real-time support for students, verification services, retrieval of duplicate documents, registration of examiners and supervisory staff, provision of informative videos for both students and teachers, online publication of examination results, and correction forms.

Zulfiqar Shah mentioned that the board is pioneering an E-academy to support students, particularly in remote areas like District Tharparkar, a first in history.

To encourage co-curricular activities, the board has made model papers for SSC and HSC available on its website and launched official social media platforms to assist students in far-flung areas of District Tharparkar.

An information desk has been set up to ensure daily updates for students and stakeholders, and a Facilitation Center (One-Window operation) has been established, along with a Complaint Portal for swift grievance resolution. The CM was informed that unnecessary document requirements for students have been waived.

In light of the time-consuming, labor-intensive, and error-prone nature of manual procedures, the CM directed all educational boards to transition to online processes.
