This surge is attributed to increased clarity on the political front, injecting a sense of positivity into the market atmosphere. Notably, the total volume of the KSE-100 index amounted to 28.415 million shares.
In the preceding session, the index exhibited a climb of 161.61 points or 0.26%.
During today's trading session, the KSE-100 index found support from various sectors, with notable contributions from Commercial Banks (129.86 points), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (110.67 points), Fertilizer (91.55 points), Power Generation & Distribution (72.5 points), and Cement (62.19 points).
On the flip side, some companies exerted a downward pull on the index, including DAWH (10.31 points), MARI (6.43 points), and UBL (4.34 points).
In the broader market scenario, the All-Share index stood at 41,744.95, marking a net gain of 454.15 points. Worth noting, the KSE-100 has exhibited a remarkable gain of 20,509 points or 49.48% throughout the fiscal year. However, the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative decrease of 489 points, equivalent to 0.78%.
