In a significant move aimed at shaping the nation's industrial landscape, the federal government has officially launched the Industry Advisory Council (IAC), featuring representation from 13 prominent industrial groups in Pakistan. The purpose of this council is to collaboratively formulate the country's industrial policy, setting the stage for robust economic growth and development.

Dr. Gohar Ejaz, the Caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce & Industries, shared this exciting development on the social media platform X last Saturday. The council's membership includes key players from renowned entities such as Lucky Cement, Fauji Foundation, Hilton Pharma, and Dawood Group, among others.

Expressing enthusiasm for the initiative, Dr. Ejaz stated, "Together, we will be formulating a robust industrial policy that will drive economic growth and development." He conveyed his eagerness to lead this initiative in his capacity as the Federal Minister of Commerce and Industry, emphasizing the importance of charting a path towards a prosperous future.

The government's Industries and Production Division issued a statement outlining its commitment to providing secretariat support to the newly formed council. According to the statement, the IAC is scheduled to convene weekly meetings and aims to present its comprehensive report within a timeframe of ten weeks.

The notice further clarified that the Minister for Industries and Production will serve as the IAC's convener and chairman. Additionally, the minister has the authority to co-opt individuals from either the public or private sector, as deemed necessary for the council's objectives.
