CM Punjab bike scheme launched: Here’s how to register

LAHORE – The Punjab government has formally launched the registration process for the provision of 20,000 motorcycles on interest-free installments under Chief Minister’s Youth Initiative.

In the first phase, 19,000 petrol and 1,000 e-bikes will be provided through the scheme.

The government of Punjab will pay Rs1 billion in markup subsidy besides Rs20,000 per bike downpayment on behalf of the students. The markup on instalments will be borne by the Punjab government.

The last date for the submission of applications is April 29. The students can apply online.

An eligible applicant must be a student of a government or private sector university or graduate college. He or she must be 18 years or above of age and have a driving licence.

Since an online portal has been established for this purpose, the government has asked the students to register for the program as soon as possible.

What is the Interest Free Bike Scheme?

The government and the Bank of Punjab worked together to develop the education-friendly project, which was introduced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

19,000 petrol motorbikes and 1,000 electric bikes will be given away under the program to students who will be chosen by poll. There is a specific quota in the program for female students.

11,676 of the 19,000 petrol bikes belong to male students, and 7,324 are to female students.

300 electric bikes are designated for female students and 700 for male students out of a total of 1,000 electric bikes.

Which Students are Eligible for Motorcycle Scheme?

Regular students at a degree college or university that has been officially recognized by HEC may sign up for the interest-free motorcycle program in Phase 1.

The program will be introduced first in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Rawalpindi.

Eligibility Criteria for Interest Free Bike Scheme?

For more than 800,000 students in the province, this is a great chance to get their own transportation. The candidate:

Must be older than eighteen.

Must be enrolled full-time in a degree program at a college or university that HEC has officially acknowledged.

Must possess a current motorcycle driver’s license or learner’s permit.

In case of receipt of applications in excess of allocated quotas, e-balloting shall be conducted.

Eligible students are required to click this link (https://bikes.punjab.gov.pk/register) to start the registration process.

They need to enter their full name, email address, CNIC and Gender details at the registration page and later they will create their password to start the application process.
