After oil, first Russian LPG consignment reaches Pakistan via Afghanistan

The first supply of Russian liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday, a day after the country got its first shipment of Russian crude oil.

The ten-truck convoy entered Pakistan via the Torkham frontier, the international border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The first LPG shipment, which was part of a deal signed by both countries for 110,000 tonnes of LGP, was transferred to Uzbekistan through rail cargo and then to Pakistan via Afghanistan via vehicles.

The first shipment of 45,000 metric tonnes of Russian oil arrived in Karachi, the country’s largest port city, the day before. The oil is currently being delivered to the refinery to be processed before it can be used.

According to sources, the entire cargo of Russian oil will be refined at the Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRA).

The Russian oil would be refined into petrol, diesel fuel, jet fuel, heating oil, LPG, petrochemicals, bitumen, and asphalt at the refinery.

They stated that the second ship carrying 55,000 metric tonnes of Russian oil would arrive in Pakistan over the following two weeks.
