World Bank approves $200 mln aid for Pakistan

The World Bank (WB) has granted $200 million in emergency aid for Pakistan to restore flood-damaged infrastructure.

The World Bank stated in a statement that its executive board granted $200 million to Pakistan to repair flood-damaged infrastructure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The aid would be transferred into the account of Stae Bank of Pakistan in the next few days.

It should be mentioned that following the floods last year, Pakistan opted to seek financial assistance from global lenders such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank (WB), Asian Development Bank (ADB), and others.

According to sources close to the situation, the global lenders were given a joint report on flood damages from the NDMA, finance, and planning and development ministries.
