Picture a world where, within the next two years, Twitter is no longer a thriving business. In a surprising move, Meta unveiled its Twitter replica called "Threads" on Wednesday night.

In a matter of hours, Threads attracted a staggering 10 million users, and within just 18 hours, the app skyrocketed to 30 million users. Some sources even suggest that Threads could reach a jaw-dropping 70 million users by the time you finish reading this.

Considering Twitter's current user base of 300 million since its launch in 2006, it's fair to say that Threads is like a sharp dagger aimed straight at the heart of Twitter. To go even further, I find it hard to fathom how Twitter can survive this impending disaster.

How does a business collapse so dramatically? Why would millions of users abandon one free social platform for another that is almost identical and also free?

The answer lies in Elon Musk's influence, as he transformed Twitter into a company that despised a significant portion of its users. He became convinced that his stronghold was impenetrable, allowing him to treat those users with disdain.
