SIFC Reforms Revolutionize Pakistan's Business Environment
ISLAMABAD  -  The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has enacted numerous policy amendments since June 2023, significantly enhancing government efficiency and positively impacting Pakistan's business environment.
SIFC's revisions to the visa policy, eliminating unnecessary barriers, have boosted foreign investors' confidence and facilitated smoother entry and operation for international businesses.
 
The creation of the National Seed Development and Regulatory Authority ensures high-quality seeds and better guidance for farmers, leading to increased crop production. Additionally, a comprehensive aquaculture policy now allows seafood to be processed to international standards, enhancing export potential.
 
A new Cannabis Regulatory Authority is formulating policies to explore the medical benefits of cannabis, positioning Pakistan as a leader in the medical cannabis industry. Under SIFC's guidance, Pakistan successfully launched the i-Cube Q satellite to the Moon and another communication satellite on May 30, marking significant advancements in national space policy.
 
Addressing longstanding issues related to tariffs and payments, this policy has enabled the upgrade of existing refineries to Euro-5 standards, ensuring high-quality petroleum products for consumers. SIFC has effectively removed barriers between various departments through negotiations, fostering better coordination between provincial and central governments.
 
Within its first year, SIFC has achieved significant milestones that were previously deemed unattainable within a decade, showcasing its pivotal role in driving economic growth and innovation in Pakistan.
