Sialkot's Small and Medium Industries Surpass $2.5 Billion in Exports: SCCI

In a significant achievement, small and medium-sized industries based in Sialkot have contributed over $2.5 billion to the country's foreign exchange reserves through exports, as highlighted by the President of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). Stressing the crucial need for continued support to industrialists, the SCCI president shared insights during a briefing to a delegation from the 34th Senior Management Course of the National Institute of Management (NIM), Islamabad.

During the Inland Study Tour, the SCCI president detailed the remarkable socioeconomic and human development driven by Sialkot's exporters on a self-help basis. He underscored the global demand for products manufactured in Sialkot, with renowned international brands collaborating closely with local manufacturers and exporters.

Sialkot, known globally for its quality products, boasts thousands of small and medium-sized industries specializing in diverse categories such as leather goods, sports equipment, surgical instruments, textiles, sportswear, and more. The SCCI president emphasized that the city's exporters have made significant contributions to international sports, with Sialkot-produced footballs, field hockey sticks, cricket gear, and boxing gloves being used in prestigious events, including the Olympics and World Cups.

Highlighting the spirit of self-help, the president mentioned the successful completion of mega projects such as Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL), Sialkot Dry Port, and the establishment of the private airline, AirSial Airline.

Masood Ahmed, Chief Instructor of the 34th Senior Management Course Inland Study Tour, acknowledged Sialkot's global reputation for manufacturing excellence and emphasized the pivotal role played by SCCI in supporting and promoting these achievements.

The visiting delegation commended the determination and enthusiasm of Sialkot exporters, particularly lauding the establishment of the international airport on a self-help basis, providing world-class aviation facilities at Sialkot Airport.
