Putin says the Russia-China energy alliance will grow even stronger

Russia’s strategic alliance with China in the energy sector will strengthen further, President Vladimir Putin said on Friday (May 17), adding that Russia was ready to supply China with clean energy.

The close relationship between Russia and China was a guarantor of energy security and enhanced the well-being of the two countries, Putin said, speaking at a Russia-China Expo in Harbin during a state visit.

Putin said, “Russian-Chinese inseparable partnership is a direct influence on the development of the two countries’ economies, and will reliably provide energy security, stimulate the creation of new industries and well-paid employment, improve the welfare and quality of life in our countries, for our citizens.”

He added, “Our strategic alliance in energy field has become a main framework of the overall global energy resources market. I am sure it will strengthen further.”
