The benchmark KSE-100 Index rose 372.55 points or 0.79% to 47,452.38 on Thursday.

The index reached 47,484.56 (+404.73) points intraday.

The KSE-100 Index volume almost doubled to 182.436 million shares from 100.3m the previous day.

The index rose 1,220 points, or 2.64%, this week.

Of the 100 index companies, 65 closed up, 28 down, 4 unchanged, and 3 untraded.

Cement had 169.04 points, Commercial Banks 60.13, Fertilizer 52.73, Engineering 28.89, and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. 20.56.

All five companies added points to the index: LUCK 37.91, MLCF 29.18, CHCC 25, EFERT 24.66, and HBL 23.27.

The KSE-100 Index was hurt by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (55), Tobacco (7.23), Power Generation & Distribution (5.52), Sugar & Allied Industries (2.16), and Insurance (2.11).

HUBC, POL, PPL, OGDC, and BAFL lowered the index with 25.59, 22.22, 13.32, 13.05, and 8.39 points, respectively.

Market-wide, the All-Share index rose 231.59 points to 31,817.27.

Total market volume was 462.866 million shares, up from 330.249 the previous session, and traded value was Rs9.00 billion, up Rs1.69bn.

There were 138,412 trades in 351 companies, with 237 up, 88 down, and 26 unchanged.
