The Henley Passport Index, which has been tracking the world’s most travel-friendly passports since 2006, has announced its most recent list of the world’s most powerful passports for 2023.

According to the most recent rankings, Pakistan’s passport is the fourth worst in the world because its nationals can only access 33 countries without a visa in advance.

Meanwhile, Singapore’s passport is now officially the most powerful in the world, allowing its inhabitants to visit 192 of the world’s 227 visa-free travel countries.

Japan has dropped from first to third position on the Henley Passport Index for the first time in five years. With visa-free access to 190 locations, Germany, Italy, and Spain all climb up to second place.

Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, South Korea, and Sweden all tied for third place with Japan.

After a six-year slump, the United Kingdom appears to have finally turned the curve, rising two spots to fourth position in the most recent survey.
