On Sunday, Pakistan extended warm greetings to the Turkish leaders and citizens in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkiye.
In a video message, President Arif Alvi conveyed his congratulations, saying, "On behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, I extend my warmest congratulations to his excellency, my brother, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkiye."
President Alvi emphasized the historical ties between the two nations, stating, "Even before the formation of the Republic of Turkiye and before the establishment of Pakistan, a strong friendship existed between the people of this region and the people of Turkiye."
He further highlighted the exceptional friendship shared by Pakistan and Turkiye, which is built on a mutual understanding of global issues, including those concerning Kashmir and Gaza.
Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar praised the founding of the Republic of Turkiye as the culmination of a heroic struggle for freedom led by the charismatic Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
Kakar noted that the determination of the Turkish nation to safeguard their independence continues to serve as an inspiration to freedom-loving people around the world.
