Pakistan and Egypt Elevate Economic Collaboration in 4th PATDC & SCE

In a bid to fortify economic bonds, Pakistan is gearing up to host the 4th Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference (PATDC) & Single Country Exhibition (SCE) in Cairo, as announced in a press release on Monday.

Scheduled for January 9th, 2024, at the Egypt International Convention Center, the inauguration will be led by Dr. Gohar Ejaz, Federal Minister for Commerce and Industries and Investments, along with the esteemed Chief Guest, Ahmed Samir, Minister for Trade & Industry of Egypt. Subsequent to the opening ceremony, a two-day single-country exhibition is set to take place on January 10th and 11th, 2024.

In an unprecedented move, Pakistan will bring over 100 companies to Egypt during this delegation, led by the Federal Minister, marking a significant commitment to strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

The visit underscores Pakistan's dedication to fostering robust economic relations with Egypt, and the delegation, present in Cairo from January 9th to 11th, 2024, aims to explore and establish business collaborations across sectors such as textile, engineering goods, food & agriculture, and services, with the participation of more than 200 Pakistani businessmen.

Notably, the event will also witness the convergence of over 150 prominent businessmen and chamber representatives from the Middle East & North African (MENA) region in Cairo. This convergence augurs well for the potential expansion of commercial ties with Pakistan.

Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, extends a cordial invitation to the business and trade community of Egypt and the MENA region, emphasizing, "We are showcasing the finest products produced by Pakistan in Egypt."

This strategic initiative aligns seamlessly with the government of Pakistan's "Look Africa" Policy, previously successful in Johannesburg, Lagos, and Nairobi. In 2024, the focus shifts towards fortifying ties with the MENA region, with Cairo selected as the key destination.

The overarching goal of the event is to foster trade enhancement, encourage joint ventures, and facilitate collaborative efforts between Pakistan and MENA countries, echoing the spirit of strengthened economic cooperation.
