Pakistan and China Enhance Collaboration Across Multiple Sectors

In a joint effort to foster closer ties, Pakistan and China have expressed their commitment to bolster cooperation in the fields of economy, information technology, agriculture, and human resource development, as stated in a press release issued today.

This commitment was reaffirmed during a meeting between the Vice Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Sun Weidong, and his delegation, who paid a visit to President Dr Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr today. Present at the meeting was also the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong. President Alvi warmly welcomed the delegation, acknowledging China as a steadfast friend that has consistently supported Pakistan during challenging times.

The President underscored the significant role of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in fostering Pakistan's economic development and addressing its energy needs. Emphasizing Pakistan's unwavering dedication to the high-quality development of CPEC, President Alvi highlighted the crucial role of Chinese support in the upcoming phase for Pakistan's industrial progress.

Expressing gratitude for Chinese assistance in stabilizing Pakistan's economy, the President conveyed Pakistan's eagerness to draw lessons from China's experiences in IT, education, health, agriculture, and poverty alleviation for comprehensive socio-economic development.

President Alvi stressed that enhanced economic cooperation would solidify the longstanding bilateral ties between the two nations. He commended China for its support in various international forums and reiterated Pakistan's commitment to stand by China on core issues, including the "One China" Policy, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Tibet, Xinjiang, and the South China Sea.

The visiting Vice Foreign Minister of China, Sun Weidong, highlighted the enduring history of friendly relations between Pakistan and China, expressing confidence in the further strengthening of these ties. He acknowledged the fruitful results of the CPEC initiative and emphasized the immense potential for expanded cooperation in diverse fields between the two countries.
