Pakistan and Afghanistan to Put TAD Mechanism into Action

Islamabad: The ministries of commerce of Pakistan and Afghanistan have come to an agreement to put into effect the temporary admission document (TAD) mechanism starting May 5, 2024.

This move aims to streamline and regulate the movement of cargo vehicles involved in bilateral trade between the two nations.

As per the official announcement, applications for TAD for vehicles registered in Afghanistan will be accepted on all working days at window No. 5 of the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul and the Pakistan Consulate in Kandahar, between 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM daily.

Similarly, applications for TAD from vehicles registered in Pakistan will be received on all working days at Afghanistan Consulate Generals in Quetta and Peshawar from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Both sides have assured the availability of application forms at Embassies/Consulates and on their websites, downloadable free of charge.

The TAD will be issued within five working days from the receipt of applications and will become valid from the date of issuance. Separate TADs will be issued for the vehicle, the driver, and the cleaner, with fees applicable for issuing TADs for vehicles only.
