Oman’s low-cost carrier SalamAir completes maiden flight from Muscat to Peshawar

SalamAir, Oman’s low-cost carrier, completed its maiden flight from Muscat to Peshawar on Monday, according to a statement from Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), making it the Omani airline’s fourth Pakistani destination.

SalamAir announced Peshawar, Pakistan’s northwestern metropolis, as a new destination for its flights on August 16, noting that it would run two flights per week to Peshawar on Mondays and Thursdays.

The airline, which began operations in Pakistan with a trip to Sialkot on May 17, 2017, also has flights to Multan, Karachi, and Sialkot.

The CAA claimed in a statement that “SalamAir’s first flight from Muscat to Peshawar arrived at 3:13 a.m.” “The inaugural flight was given a traditional water salute by fire tenders on the taxiway.”

Separately, SalamAir announced the announcement on the social media network X, formerly known as Twitter. “SalamAir launched its inaugural flight from Muscat to Peshawar today,” the airline said in a statement.

According to the CAA, senior SalamAir personnel, including the airline’s managing director and director of operations, traveled to Peshawar on the same aircraft. The Omani airline also hosted a ceremony to commemorate the anniversary at Peshawar airport’s CIP Lounge.
