In a noteworthy turnaround, Savings Mobilized by National Savings Schemes (NSS) witnessed a significant net inflow of Rs1.44 billion in November, as revealed by the latest data from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). This positive development follows a period of substantial outflows amounting to Rs28.09 billion in the previous month.

Breaking down the statistics, November 2023 saw a net outflow of Rs1.04 billion from Defence Saving Certificates (DSC), indicating a withdrawal of funds surpassing new investments in DSCs for the month. Similarly, Regular Income Certificates (RIC) experienced an outflow of Rs8.53 billion, and Rs1.44 billion was withdrawn or redeemed from Special Savings Certificates (SSC).

Furthermore, other savings categories within NSS demonstrated a positive shift, recording receipts totaling Rs12.21 billion. This marks a substantial increase compared to the Rs5.05 billion outflows recorded in the previous month.

It is noteworthy that in the fiscal year 2023, net outflows from Savings Mobilized by NSS amounted to Rs381.87 billion. However, the current fiscal year has witnessed a decrease in outflows, totaling Rs32.27 billion, signaling a consistent trend of positive net payments within these savings schemes.
