MrBeast reveals earning ‘millions in ad’ from five X videos

NEW YORK: MrBeast, an American YouTuber, has revealed he earned millions in ad revenue from posting a video to X, formerly known as Twitter as compared to YouTube.

On April 5, he wrote on X, “Posting videos on X has been awesome so far. So far It’s been around a million in ad revenue. I’m just adding it to my video budgets so now I can spend more on content lol.”

Earlier on April 1, MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, tweeted that he was quitting YouTube.

American internet celebrity shared a photo of his top trending videos in a tweet, showing that his videos crossed the 150M mark on X. One of his top videos crossed 177M views following 162M and 150M. Elon Musk, the platform owner himself replied to Beast’s tweet writing, “Cool.”

Previously, the American announced that he would post an old video to X as an experiment because he was “super curious” to see how much ad revenue he could make from the post.

One of his posts he shared generated more than 155 million views, and MrBeast posted a screenshot showing it had earned him just over 263,000 dollars (£206,800).

MrBeast’s videos ranging above 100M have been closely watched by many industry experts and commentators as X has publicly struggled to make money since Elon Musk’s takeover in late 2022, and has seen traffic to the site decline.
