Lahore Traffic Police Revolutionizes Learner Driving License Process

The official announcement on December 5, 2023, serves as a crucial reminder for prompt action, urging individuals to seize the opportunity to obtain licenses at the current rates until December 31, 2023.

Lahore Traffic Police Revolutionizes Learner Driving License Process

In a groundbreaking move aimed at enhancing accessibility for aspiring drivers, Lahore Traffic Police, under the leadership of the Inspector General of Punjab, is decentralizing the procedure for obtaining Learner Driving Licenses. Starting from December 6, 2023, individuals can now directly acquire these licenses from the front desks of local police stations, marking a notable departure from the conventional application channels.

This strategic shift is poised to revolutionize the licensing process, introducing a more convenient and efficient system for the public. To align with this positive change, there is, however, a financial adjustment on the horizon. The Punjab government has disclosed an upcoming increase in license fees for both cars and motorcycles, slated to be effective from January 1, 2024.

This policy modification is in line with Lahore Traffic Police’s rigorous stance against underage and unlicensed drivers. A staggering 7,000 cases were registered against such drivers within just 21 days, leading to legal consequences for 9,355 unlicensed drivers in a brief 15-day period. These statistics underscore the authorities' commitment to emphasizing road safety and maintaining law and order on Lahore's bustling streets.

As the city takes these significant steps to facilitate the licensing process, it reflects a broader commitment to creating a safer and more organized traffic environment.
