Gwadar Airport’s new inauguration Date unveiled

The new Gwadar International Airport, built as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), has been delayed by another year.

According to a reliable source within the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the new Gwadar Airport was slated to open this month, but it was postponed due to technical issues.

According to sources, the arrival of airport and technical equipment from China to Pakistan was delayed. The supplies are anticipated to arrive in Gwadar this month by sea from China.

According to sources, Chinese authorities have scheduled the airport’s opening for June 2024, with non-operational construction expected to be finished by 2025.

The new Gwadar Airport is located 26 kilometers northeast of the existing Gwadar Airport, and the government of Pakistan has allocated 3,000 acres of land for construction. Gwadar Airport, like the new Islamabad Airport, is Pakistan’s second greenfield airport.

The airport will be able to handle a mix of ATR 72, Airbus (A-300), Boeing (B-737), and Boeing (B-747) aircraft for both domestic and international operations.
