Govt imports 220,000 tons of urea, commences distribution to farmers
The government has completed the import of 220,000 tons of urea and has initiated the distribution through the National Fertilizer Marketing Limited (NFML) to private manufacturers, as announced by the Commerce Minister, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, in his latest post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Following this development, around 5,000 tons of urea will reach farmers on a daily basis.
This significant step addresses the recent shortage and ensures that fertilizer is readily available, boosting the agriculture sector and supporting the country's hardworking farmers.
"Together, we are building a stronger, more food-secure Pakistan," the commerce minister concluded.
